The Hill Country Sun Problem and How Solar Screens Solve It
The Problem: In the Hill Country, the intense Texas sun pours into your big view windows and bakes your porch and patio — overheating rooms, fading floors and furniture, running up your energy bill, and driving you inside for the best hours of the day. And here’s the local frustration: many companies will build solar screens OR install them, but not both and few will do large windows at all.
The Solution: We solve both problems. Solar screens mount outside the glass and stop the sun’s heat and UV before they ever enter keeping rooms cooler, protecting your interiors, and cutting glare while preserving your view and we build AND install them ourselves, even for the large view windows of Hill Country homes. It’s one stop, done right. For your outdoor living, exterior patio shades and retractable awnings reclaim your porch and deck from the sun. Manual or motorized, all backed by a lifetime guarantee.
Exterior Shades
Reclaim Your Porch from the Sun
Precision-woven exterior mesh blocks UV and radiant heat on your porch, patio, or outdoor kitchen dropping temps and cutting glare while preserving your view. Retractable screens add bug protection. Manual or motorized.
Retractable Awnings
Shade On Demand for Your Deck
Retractable awnings extend for instant shade over your patio or deck, then retract for open sky. Motorized models with sun and wind sensors adjust automatically great for a Hill Country deck.

Frequently Asked Questions About Solar Screens & Outdoor Shades in Wimberley
Do you build and install solar screens in Wimberley?
Yes – we build AND install solar screens, including for large window sizes, which many companies won’t do. Solar screens mount outside the glass and block the sun’s heat and UV before they enter, keeping your Hill Country home cooler while preserving the view.
It’s one stop – we handle the whole job, backed by a lifetime guarantee.
How are solar screens different from solar shades?
Solar screens mount outside the glass to stop heat and UV before they even reach the window, making them extremely effective against the Texas sun. Solar shades are interior shades that block heat and up to 99% of UV at the window. Many Hill Country homes use both.
We’ll help you choose the right approach for each window.
Can exterior shades make my porch usable in summer?
Yes – exterior patio shades and screens block UV and radiant heat before it reaches your porch or patio, dropping the temperature and cutting glare so you can enjoy your outdoor space through the Hill Country summer. Retractable screens add bug protection.
